Such a sassafrass

Funny is SOOOOO happy to be turned out again! Today, I took Dan to go to do our XC ride at Pine top and she was giving him grief as I was bringing him in. Hee hee. She cracks me up!

It's going to be hard to keep her entertained until I can start working her. I figure that I can do lots of ponying and eventually start long lining her, but I don't know that I want to officially start her til she's 4. Considering how big she is and with her OCD lesions. But man... she's going to be a handful to keep occupied. Not unlike her big brother! Maybe they can entertain each other. ;)

So... she also fits in Roany's clothes... 75's. EEEKS!

FREEDOM!!!!

Thanks to God!! Funny got a good check up and can be turned out! She looked fantastic and trotted so good for the tech. Even the resident was like "dang, she just was like..oh, okay, this is what we do". :) Yep... she's so freakin' smart! Dr. Eggleston said that there was a little bit of effusion still but not bad and he suspected it would go away with more movement. (Ha! I'm not sure he quite understood what I meant by "she got loose and raced Dan and ran amuck repeatedly"... but I get it... she can be moving all day now). He also said that he wouldn't worry about the front lesions. He said that those tend to not bother the horse and if they do, we can remove them then. There's no rush to remove them because they don't cause cartilage damage like the other kind can. So basically, when I start her.. if I notice issues... "we can pop them right out". :) YAY!!!!

But man oh man... was she FERAL today! Dan went too. He got feet rads. And when we put them both in stalls to wait our turn, they were both screaming and pawing and banging on the gates. I'm pretty sure UGA was super glad when we were discharged. Hee hee.

And tonight.. it's going to be super cold, So since she's out and about (YES!!!!) I pulled out Roany's clothes. The 76 was a bit long for her, but the 74 fit perfectly! Yikes!

Whooops!

Today we had two successful hand grazes with no jail breaks. BUT... when she was back in her pasture with her runway opened up... she came flying down and tried to turn around her empty water troughs. She slipped and went down in the corner... It took her an extra second or two to get up. She seems fine, but she hasn't been too keen on running since then. So... hopefully she's okay. She nicked herself in the ankle a little bit. Ugh. And... Dan is so bored without his playmate that today while grazing her... he was at the fence line pushing the gate back and forth... then knocked it off the hinge. Which I had just fixed. Ugh. Then when I yelled at him for that he went to trying to pull his blanket off over his head. Sigh. I hate stall rest. But... we're soooooooo close!

One more week... one more week....

Hang in there baby girl. One more week of stall rest! Hopefully!

I did open up her run as she is getting somewhat feral!

Bumping into me. Got loose again and raced Dan... and was breezing easily.

Feral child

Oh sassy little girl! She's been soooo good really about stall rest. But she can't help herself sometimes. Like her brother. I had her grazing the other night in the pasture and she squealed and bucked around me for a few circles. Then I tried to get her to go the other way.. you know, so she'd be symmetrical. And she sort of did.. but that way it's much easier for me to lose her... And I did. And she went bucking and galloping up the pasture. Ugh... that's the third break out now.

I caught her pretty quick as she was more interested in snacking this time. And Dan wasn't around to add to the shenanigans. Not until after I caught her anyways.

Then today we went for a quick pony ride around the neighborhood before our snacks. She was a good girl and they didn't even flinch at the turkey inflatables. I guess if you see the halloween inflatables, the thanksgiving ones aren't any more exciting. ;)

Double Trouble

 Tempted fate.. grazed both

Two peas...

gate slammed shut, she squealed as she jumped

went to head in and picked both of them up out of the grass and they simultaneously snorted in unison, repeatedly.

awww

A little more freedom... NOPE TOO MUCH!!!

 Broke out of the roundpen

back to her patio
