Funny and Emma

 

Tonight I let Emma out with me while I was doing barn chores. Funny had to investigate and say hi. At least she didn't charge Emma, like I've seen her do with the cats.

Lunging quicky

 Today I managed to get done early and was able to work all 3 ponies and give Flecky some bemer love and kisses. 

I just took Funny into the round pen because I was too lazy to walk all the way back up to the arena. ;) We did our pillar walks, including pillar 3. She's as smart as the others. They all know pillar 3 gets them cookies! Then we lunged. She was sassy again today. Making faces at me. But she lunged well. We didn't do much as it was getting cold and dark!

Just cause she's cute

 Sadly I didn't have time to work Funny Fu today. She was cute though. She was napping earlier with Fleck and Lyric. And then she was rolling in the mud. And then when I let them out into the dog's field... she was running laps and bucking. :) I adore her!

Sassy pants!

She's so snuggly and cute. Today was a good day. It was my day off and it was warm and sunny! I took blankets off and Funny decided to try to snooze in the mud. Unfortunately for her, Lyric wouldn't let her snooze. Doh! But it was her turn to play anyways. I took her and put her on the trailer a few times. She didn't come all the way in without a bribe, but she did with the bribe. Then I groomed her at the trailer. She was itchy on her belly! The she got the cavesson with reins put on and I led her up to the arena. 

 

 

We started off with our pillar walk but I tried to keep the tiniest bit of contact with the reins. Then we practiced bending to the inside with rein contact. She was so good. You could tell she was paying attention because she had her "concentration face" on. :) 

 

Then we lunged and man was she full of it! There was no rearing but quite the amount of sass faces, mare glares, snakey heads, and head shakes. And when I asked her to trot, she kept leaping into it. She even came in towards me a few times snaking that head. Hee hee. Girl!! Get! I ain't afraid of you! I don't think that she really means it either. She's just being sassy and playing. We got some really nice lunging though - nice and stretching down and out. And she was actually trotting straight in her tracks. 

 

And then she was flirting with Danny again. Such good photos!

Spicy Tantrums

 Poor Funny. This weather needs to cooperate... Funny is BORED. Yesterday she was doing gallop sprints. Today... apparently she is NOT a fan of her neck cover. I guess it's not waterproof so her neck was all wet. And I guess she was mad. When she came in for dinner she kept rolling and pawing the wall. Then she kept rearing straight up. Like girl!!! What is your deal?! I finally took her neck cover off and rubbed her neck mostly dry and she stopped being so silly. Crazy girl hates being wet! I'm pretty sure it does rain in Cali darling!

Spicy and Soggy

  

 Today I decided to take Funny for a walk! Of course right as we left it started to rain. Oh well. She was game. I groomed her first because she was a messy mess. And then we headed off. We started to do a little bit of jogging and as we came up to the lake we apparently scared the geese. Which scared Funny! Who spun and bolted and ALMOST got loose from me. Luckily she's brave and I was able to stop her. We carried on. Then we went to the field and trotted some more. She was all animated and archy! At this point it was raining steadily so we turned around and headed home. We still managed a mile walk/jog though. She's a good kid.

Babies first

 Funny got to go first today! She was so excited. I took her to the barn and groomed her and picked her feet. I also combed out her mane and tail and put shiny stuff in it. And then I measured her. She was 16. 1 today! 

So then we went to the arena. I saw a neat post about sure foot pads and engaging the thoracic sling, so we tried that. I put one foot on a surefoot pad and let her sit for a minute. Then we walked a circle. It's supposed to help with proprioception. She was pretty good about standing still. I'm not sure that she got anything out of it, but.. we'll keep playing with it. We then did a bit of pillar work, during which she was wonderful. Then we lunged. She was a bit sassy! She gave me a few side eyes and some head flings. But she was good and only reared once. Ha ha. We did get some good forward, down and out stretches. And I even lunged her over the cavaletti. She trotted nicely over it. 

After I turned her out I went and grabbed Dan. And apparently she is in heat. And she is not a happy camper when her advances are unmet! ha ha. Poor Dan!

Finally Funny time

 Poor buns.. she's been left out! I've just not had time or the energy or the daylight for her lately. But today I worked her first. Well, before Dan anyways. 

She's a muddy mess and I didn't groom or pick feet... I just caught her in the pasture and we went straight to the arena. Well, straight there after some snuggle time with Dan. She's in heat and she loves him so much! (But Funny... ewwww... you're cousins!). 

 

 

We started out with our pillar walks and she was good. We did pillar 2 and 3 and then we went to lunging. As soon as I sent her out she immediately went into the trot. There was also some face shakings, but... no rearing and she didn't pull free, so good girl! She wasn't tracking up but she was straight in her foot falls and soft in her neck and long and low with a bouncy back. Good girl!

We didn't work too long since she was so good. I really need to groom them and pick her feet, but.. oh well. I started to get a headache and... life. Oh well. She'll be fine.
