Good lunging girl

 We had a nice lunge today. She thought about being feral but she wasn't. She was fancy!

 Funny was a goober tonight! I rode Dan and then decided to lunge Funny. She came right up to me and was happy and super while we did our pillar work. (Not long...because she's pretty much nailing it). Then I went to lunge. Maybe she was remembering that we had cantered last time, or maybe she was just feral, but... she started out power trotting and then pretty quickly broke into a canter which then turned into a gallop with some spins and twists. The good news is that she was in the roundpen so I didn't really have to chase her. But, she wasn't exactly in pillar 1 anymore. Ha ha. Oh funbuns... She took a few laps with some chilling in between and I finally got her. And then she was pretty much back to lunging with her nose practically on the ground. Of course right after she did have some spring to her step! I told her she was bouncy and sproingy like a fancy dressage horse! She was good and we managed to have a normal lunge session after that. I opted to not ask for the canter today since she had already so nicely offered it. ;) Ha ha.

Then afterwards she was a bit steamy (I wonder why)! so I rinsed her off and sponged her down with apple cider vinegar. I'm hoping it will help with her skin stuff. She got her coat conditioner, fly spray, some rain rot stuff, and I even conditioned her mane and tail. And then she immediately rolled. And then while I was lunging Lyric she was scratching her hiney on the fence. Doh!

After I lunged Lyric I was feeding dogs and cats and while waiting on the dogs to eat, Funny came up for snuggles. She makes me laugh! So feral and so snuggly at the same time!

Hoover lunging

Shenanigans this cold chilly morning.  She's fast

trying to snack while lunge, but... mostly good girl! Learned canter today on the lunge. Canter on purpose. ;) Not as willing to canter on purpose it turns out. ha ha.

GUESS WHAT WE DID TODAY!!!!!

 Funny is such a good girl!!

Took her to the trailer and asked her to load. which is a little unfair as it's been awhile and she didn't have dan. But it only took her 3 tries and she went on.. by herself!!! Good girl. Then groomed and ended up putting the saddle on. Not a big fan of girthing but just pulled back a teeny bit at first. then walked to arena nad put cavesson on and lunged (after a brief pillar walk). Did super! A few snarly faces but no rears or take offs. :) No worry about the saddle either.

then walked over to the mounting block to practice that since she was squirrely the last time. Stood up over her... leaned over her... no reaction. Decided....to just swing a log over and see.. no reaction.. so sat on her!!! About 7 seconds and she didn't flinch or react or do anything! GOOD GIRL! Got off and rewarded her. Then got back up on the mounting block and leaned over her again and then called it quits.

then put reins on and practiced in hand walking and turning and stopping. SOOOOO good!!!

Oh I can't wait!!! She's gonna be so much fun
