So.... Funny is about over Dan's stall rest. She misses her buddy and wants someone to PLAY WITH HER! Fleck just isn't fun. And apparently, I'm not either. :)
I did manage to find time to work with her today. Unfortunately by the time I got done with my car appt it was 2 pm. And it was literally 101 degrees in the barn with the fans going. I think the real feel was 108. Ugh. But, I figured we could do a little bit of work and then give her a bath to cool off.
So we headed off to the arena. She led up there beautifully and politely. She's got a GREAT relationship to contact. Then we got in the arena and she got a little spicy almost immediately. I'll have to wear gloves next time. She managed to get away from me pretty early on and ran around like an idiot. Argh. I feel like this is becoming a habit. Luckily, because it was so hot, she came back to me pretty quickly. Although she was still blowing super hard and she sounds a little bit like she has some laryngeal paralysis. UGH. Hopefully not. Hopefully she was just hot and the humid weather and high temps and dry dusty arena footing is making her sound harsh.
We managed to get some decent pillar work in after I caught her back up. We walked over the cavaletti's too and the liver pool also. And then we headed back and she got a bath. Guess we'll have to start doing our homework and go see Rana again soon!
