Growing up and Getting Gold Star stickers everywhere

Funny was such a good girl today!

Today Funny, Dan and I went to Ashland for a hack. I caught them and loaded Dan up. Before I could even get the butt bar down, Funny had climbed the ramp and was trying to self load! I dropped the bar and she walked right in. Sweet! Good girl! Gold star sticker for you! We got to Ashland and everyone got groomed. Then I got Dan tacked up and off we went.

Funny was good and marched right along, occasionally sneaking some grass. She even pulled a bite from Dan's lips as he had a mouthful. We just walked. Nothing long or hilly or exciting since Dan's rehabbing.

We stopped at the lake and Funny pretty much went down immediately. She rolled on both sides and pawed and splashed a lot. Her and Dan were playing a little bit too. Then we headed back up and when we got to the trailer, I put her in and left Dan tied. She walked right up and got halfway in and changed her mind. It only took about 6 attempts though and then she was in. I untacked Dan and took him to the grass in front of the arenas to lunge. She could see us. But she was mad!!! There was lots of pawing and whinnying. But she survived and she did settle eventually. Dan was good so we kept it short. He got a rinse and then I put him on the trailer with her, and then pulled her off.

She was good and not calling for him. He was calling for her and pawing, but only very briefly and then he settled. She was a little confused at first, but lunged really nicely considering she was in a new place and Dan was in the trailer. We even got some soft "economy trots" with her reaching over her back, her nose down and out, and starting to get lofty! We tried the other way and it was a bit of a wreck! She couldn't quite get that slower rhythm and kept slipping in the grass and bulging out. But we did manage a little bit of correct and good, so we stopped. We went back to the right again and got some of the nice soft slower trot. And then we quit.

She got a rinse and then she hopped right back in the trailer with Dan. :)

Such a good girl!! I'm so proud of her!
