Fancy, Sassy, and Sweet

 Like a sour patch kid.

In raging heat... had lesson with liz. rode Lyric first since i woke up cranky. good choice and funny was trying to pick a fight. I ignored and she finally settled. though liz had to have "words" with her... made her submit but also gave her some good energy and healing. decided sometimes we need to let Funny make decisions, so.. we let her choose some things and she chose to do the rope gate. and she did it! not perfect in her positioning, but.. for her first time she did it. yay!

fought me a good bit but we got some really good work. don't lock my elbows.. keep them bending at my side. slow my post... make my post very small. liz was going to punish me with making me sit the trot.. ha ha.. trying to sit the trot very much helps me get it small. still have to hover my sit trot but was able to get a few actual sits in. and man, she felt amazing today. when she wasn't sassy. she was lifted in her back, round, and on the bit! So powerful and fancy! and lovely transitions, even some of the upwards. we didn't canter today because we wanted to end on that fancy trot. wide hands for me too... don't cross the left hand over her neck. don't engage in a fight. sometimes let her make a decision. when she starts to fight, ask her to do something else.. ie... change the direction, half pass, do a circle or figure eight...

fancy pants!!!
