Yahoo!! Funny bunny came through surgery!
I didn't hear anything all day today and was freaking out a little. Luckily a very sweet friend who works in the clinic saw her name and went to meet her. She sent me photos! I thanked her profusely because... my heart was much happier after that. They even gave her a stall ball. :)
I called them at 4:15 and they said that she was in surgery and they would call me after. So.... I went home, fed ponies, laid down because I was exhausted and my shoulder is aching. Got up... swept... and finally.. the phone rang! At like 7:30 pm! Dr. Eggleston said she was up and fine and surgery went well. He said the stifles were both done and that the right one, while it looked worse on rads, was better in real life. But that both weren't too bad considering their location. He said he also went in on the right hind fetlock and never did find the solid chip, but suspects he shaved it off in layers. Or something to that effect. I didn't think to ask if they redid rads but can ask tomorrow. I asked him what he thought her prognosis was and he said that he thought she should be fine. He would suggest cosequin or adequan, but.. thought she should be fine, especially given where the lesion was located in the stifle. PHEW!!!! He also said that he didn't really think she would need renovo or a biologic injected after the fact. So.. yay! I may have done a happy dance when we hung up. He's going to round in the morning, make sure she's walking well, and then she can come home. He'll have a 90 day rehab plan for me. So.. January 1st, 2022 she should be back in action. Whatever "action" a not quite 2 year old should be in. :)
Ahhhh... God is so good. I'm so grateful! And, I sent a message to her breeder, not to complain or blame, but to let her know. Not that it's really genetic, but... And bless her, she offered me a fantastic deal on a baby next year. Which is super amazingly kind and totally unexpected and in my opinion, unecessary. But it was a super kind thing that made my heart and soul happy. Hopefully, I won't need to take her up on it!
So... fingers crossed she is walking well tomorrow and can come home! I know the boys will be soooo glad to see her!
