I just love Funny! She's the sweetest girl, but also full of sass and spirit! When Dan and I got back from our trip to Aiken, she came running up and hung out with him in the stall even when Fleck and Lyric got bored and went to graze. Then him and her had a somewhat aggressive itchy fest and enjoyed themselves. She's just such a sweet girl.. hanging out with her big brother keeping him company while he's in jail. Poor girl though because I turned her and Fleck out today so they could graze some, but Fleck was hot so he spent most of the day in the stall. Funny went out and grazed some first thing in the morning but spent most of the day back in the stalls. Oh well. It's only 7 more days! She has good hay to make up for it. And tonight, after dinner, I was still doing stalls so Funny got to out and graze for a good 30 minutes or so with Fleck before I put her in for the night and turned Lyric out.
Earlier though, I decided to work the girls. I took Funny out first. We did our pillar work and she was super. Then I put the lunge cavesson on with the bit again and lunged her. She did pretty well! She did twist her head some, I think trying to get away from the bit. But she also settled and had a nice soft quiet mouth and we got some good correct work. I do think she's actually bending better today through out her body. And then she got sassy and broke free... because I forgot gloves so I just let her go. And she went on a rampage. Ha ha. Bucking, snorting, spooking at and kicking out at the lunge line that dared to chase her. Hee hee. Baby girl has opinions. SERIOUS OPINIONS! And dang is she fast and athletic. There was some serious heels over her head bucks! She was making me laugh cause she would start to turn in to me, then she would decide she wanted to play some more... then she'd start to come in, then the lunge line would touch her foot! ha ha. She had fun. So, when I did get her we went back to nice soft and relaxed work and then we did a bit more trotting until we got some nice correct circles. It didn't take very long.
Then I painted her hooves, gave her a rinse, and detangled her sad little tail. It's long, it's just so thin. Oh well. Nothing I can do about it for Wednesday now anyways. Oh, and... her new fly mask came in. :) She HATES having them put on. But she was good today.
