Western and slutty

 Oh Funny! She is in raging heat! She is peeing everytime Dan looks at her and she is chewing on his hocks and stuck to him like glue! 

 
However, she still was a good girl for her ride. Well, as good as she usually is. ;) I put her in the western bridle today because I was running short on time and I wanted to try the nathe again. She was still chompy but... she did seem to be happier in it perhaps. She was still tossing her head some but I felt like she was less curled and more willing to accept some contact. And my downward aids and half halts required less effort. So... we'll keep playing with them. 

 

We started off hacking in the pasture but she was chompy even then. Once we got in the arena I worked on walk to halt to walk and/or walk to halt to slightly rock back to walk. She was super. And my aids were quieter. Then we did a little bit of lateral work before we trotted. Once we started trotting she was actaully really quite nice. She felt like she was lifting her back and less strung out. She felt more underneath herself. And she was slower in her tempo too. Of course that didn't last long because I asked for canter fairly early on since she was being good. The canters were nice but a bit quick again. And she definitely wasn't giving me as nice of a place to sit as her back had dropped a hair. And our downward transitions were tougher. But we did manage to salvage the ride and get some decent transitions and then some decent trot again. I quit when we had a nice trot to halt and a nice stand still. Brief, but she didn't wiggle or fight me so I got out of it quick! Good pony!

 

She looks pretty cute in the western headstall too. And the green paisley plaid isn't too wild on her!
