Easy Day

Today was a lovely day weather wise... perfect for riding. But... sadly, we didn't ride. I went to Gibbs Gardens with Mike today for date day. It was beautiful. But that meant when I got home I was short on time... and I opted to drag the arena and do PT with both girls instead of taking one to Ashland. I figured I could take both to Ashland tomorrow... it'll be dreary but... I'll have time.

So after the arena was drug, I took 4 poles and two broken cavaletti's down to the roundpen to make life easier/quicker. Unfortunately my cavesson and lunge line were still up the arena so... oh well.

Funny was happy to be caught and we headed to the roundpen. WHAT IS THAT?!?!? Ha ha... She saw the poles in there and went on high alert. But she was brave and went in. I did unhook her and let her loose in there while I went to check the trailer for the cavesson and lunge and she ran around. But I caught her and she settled immediately.

We started out with a tiny bit of pillar walking and then we did the poles. We walked them 10 times and we did some pillar turns in between. I also tried to get her to halt square but it didn't really work. doh!

Then I went to lunge but tried it without the line and she went feral. She was swapping behind still. A lot. Sadness. But it's hard to tell when she's zooming and unbalanced. But still. So I managed to finally catch her and once I had the lead line attached she immediately settled into a nice long and low trot. Goober. But thank you. After that we walked the poles from the opposite direction twice.
