The snow has gone but the chill is still here! I did sneak in a ride towards the end of the day. It was cold when we started and really really cold when we finished. The arena was starting to refreeze so we didn't ride very long.
We warmed up at the walk and she was squirrely and wiggly but she did settle. I'd blame the chill, but.. ha! We trotted and she was quick at first. She is definitely not sluggish and in heat! But she did settle and once I got myself lined up, she lined up. She wanted to bulge to the right and fall in, but I worked on my homework, sat left, and guided her underneath me and straight and it worked! We had some really nice work and overall it was so much better than our usual. I did some leg yielding and some "half passing" to help straighten her in the trot and it helped. We even cantered and had two lovely canters! Even on the left lead.
Whoo hooo. But BRRRRR, so we called it quits and headed back. I did try on her new bridle after our ride and it fits. Yay!! We also had a gorgeous sunset tonight.
