Went back to my "gut" riding... softest of contacts... probably not even true "contact/connection" but.. she was happier and I was happier. And as the ride progressed, I was able to take a bit more of a feel. Used the lateral work to help keep her soft and supple and not running. And... progress because I was able to canter early on and then not have the trot fall apart. whoo hooo.
Started out fairly nice from the get go, aside from almost getting yeeted off when the deer scared her. So freakin' reactive and explosive. She went so far sideways that both her left feet almost went under the four board and she "popped" it a tiny bit as she flung herself the other way. Silly baby fawns... kept coming back out and teasing us. ;)
