Fun day! Karen had mentioned that she wanted to get Alf more fit, so I told her I was always game to go for a hack! So we decided to try out Heritage Park. Yay!
We got there and pulled in at the same time. Nice! And then I had to pee before we started and walked over to the port-a-potty. As I got in and was peeing, I heard a truck drive up... and it drove right up. It sounded like it was on top of us... and then I panicked.. "I"m in here... please don't flip me over!" ha ha... I peed as quick as I could and then bolted out of there and sure enough.. the port-a-potty dude was there ready to clean it. Eeeeks! Thanks dude!
Crisis averted so we headed out. I hadn't ridden there in ages but it seemed pretty much like there was only one trail. We had fun. It was not really conducive to trotting in lots of places so we mostly walked. And while I was leading... that wasn't wise, because we ended up doing one of the little loops twice. Ha ha. My bad! But it was a good time. We did find a few spots to trot and they had a fun bridge to cross. Funny was brave and went over pretty quickly. She also did good with Alf. She made faces at him a few times but mostly was non-chalant about him. And he did a good job of keeping his distance.
At the very end we had a little canter in the open field. Wheee! I was tempted to ride in the covered, but it's kind of small and had been freshly drug so I didn't know what the rules were. We did walk around the edge of it and stepped into it for a bit before we realized it was freshly drug.
I'll have to come back although it's not my favorite trail. It wasn't bad though. Especially for walking. And it was definitely fun hanging out with Karen again.
