first ride. still slightly cooler but the sun came out right as i got on, so.. hot. But better than recently as there was a good breeze mostly. rode at home.
just.. meh. not a bad ride but not good. feels like we're just stuck. I can't get her through and using her back lately and while her tempo is better.. her rhythm is all over the place and I can't figure out how to get her soft in her body again. Overall, she's more "on contact" than she has been, but she's not seeking it. and i'm hanging...she's bracing... I can't quite figure out how to soften without having her dump on the forehand.. or i don't know, get quick.
so.. just frustrating. We had some good moments. Finished with a decent trot and leg yield to canter. Canter feels icky too.. not soft in her neck and topline. but did get some good downwards. Don't know if i'm just being impatient and expecting too much too quick... or if it really does suck. or both.
finished with the WE gate... good girl.
